A hidden gem for whisky fans

Established in 1825, Glencadam Distillery is located in the ancient city of Brechin, within the Eastern Highlands of Scotland. This distillery has withstood a history of uncertainty and hardship, yet Glencadam Single Malt is still produced using the same traditional, handcrafted methods it has used for over 200 years, such as maturing whisky in the distillery’s historic dunnage warehouses.

In 2021, a working water wheel was re-installed in the heart of Glencadam Distillery, a nod back to how the distillery was powered back in 1825.

Unusually, Glencadam’s stills have lyne arms that run at an upwards angle. This encourages significant reflux, which helps to produce a single malt which is characterised by its tropical and orchard fruit flavours.

All Glencadam age statement whiskies are bottled at 46% and are neither chill-filtered nor coloured to retain the whisky's natural characteristics.

In 2025, a brand new visitor experience was opened to commemorate the distillery's 200th anniversary.
