A rum, a legend since 1886
Rivière du Mât is synonymous with outstanding rums from the island of La Réunion in the Indian Ocean – produced in one of the island's oldest distilleries, which was founded in 1886 and is still in operation today.
Rivière du Mât rums are made from fresh molasses and comply with the regulations governing the geographical designation of origin for rums from La Réunion. A pioneer in the field of dynamic ageing (blending rums of different ages that are matured in new and old casks), the brand produces a wide range of well-structured, complex old rums. The distillery is also the only one on La Réunion to recycle waste from distillation and has been certified with the ‘Afnor CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Commitment’ label.
Rivière du Mât is the leader in matured rums on Réunion and in France in Rhum Arrangés (rums flavoured with fruits and spices) with over 1 million litres sold in 2024.
